DEAR FRIENDS We have received sad news today that for the foreseeable future we will receive NO government help for the sterilisations we do. Although it was only R205 ( about a third if the cost) it did help! They have run out of money! We as a team stood at cross roads today...DO WE STOP OUR WORK? Our hearts say NO, our souls are crying, as we see first hand the difference that the work we have done has made. The peoples attitudes towards their animals have improved, the animals condition have improved and there is a sense of relief in the communities when they know they wont have more puppies to get rid of. AND WE ARE PREVENTING RABIES AT A MASS SCALE. Why do we want shelters full of dogs to rehome?? Who not rather stop the problem at its root?? Why do people so easily give money to keep a dog in kennels, why not help get the kennels empty by preventing unwanted puppies and kittens. I know the thought of getting up at 5 am walking through the streets of the squatter camps among drunk and dirt educating the masses re animal care and empathy and sterilising until our fingers literally bleed, isnt as cuteas the picture of a puppy sadly starring at you through the bars of a shelter cage, but we are begging who ever can spare a few cents, or any companies that can sponsor our mission PLEASE come forward and contact us. We are legislation 18 A registered thus tax rebate forms immediately available. We need the funds desperately. We dont pay salaries, we dont even pay our volunteers petrol money for driving miles and miles after the animals, we just pay anaesthetics and medications needed for the sterilisations. PLEASE PLEASE Forward to all you know and we do believe somewhere we will find an angel who can carry us through and make this happen.
