DEAR NEW DIS FAMILY We want to ‘Welcome You‘ to DIS and are very happy to have you join our community. As recent arrivals to Dresden, perhaps you are still learning and adjusting to the country, its culture, city, and the school. The transition process is not easy, especially with the move done quickly and without enough preparation. Families have to deal with many things at once during and after transition. This is often a period of tension and uncertainty; it takes time to adjust. As School Counselors, part of our job is to help students and families manage this move and to offer our support as you go through this process. We have scheduled two workshops that will highlight the stages of transition, culture shock, and helpful tips to ease the process, for you personally and for your family. In order to accommodate everyone, we will hold the workshop at two different times: MYP - Tuesday, September 10 at 9:00 am (Community Room, buildg. B) PYP - Wednesday, September 11 at 9:00 am (Conference Room, buildg.
