DEBATE OF THE WEEK: WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO THE CLAIMERS OF OFFA SHAWO SOUTH WEST COUNCILLORSHIP SEAT? Afolabi Adewole Jimoh in the past week shortly after the Offa Rerun election came to the public to deny the victory supposedly awarded him by fathers xmas-KWASIEC and Radio Kwara, he said :In the 8 polling units in my ward (Shawo South West) the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost, while All Progressives Congress (APC) won convincingly in all the polling units in the rerun election held on August 31st 2013. But in a press conference addressed by Kamarudeen Olagunju who was paraded by Prince Yemi Afolayan, PDP secretary in Kwara State said Olagunju was their candidate and not Jimoh. National Mirror on Sunday (Sept. 8,2013) on pg 12 & 13 gave us a subject for debate. Nationnal Mirror asked Kamarudeen, when did you become the candidate? He replied : As from... (looks confused and could not remember but an official of the state PDP interjected by and answered for him.."He is not the one that should answer that question. The Offa LG PDP chairman should answer the question") You were adjudged winner of that election. What did you score? How many votes did you score? Kamarudeen:.....(He remained silent) The PDP state officer then interjected and said:"He cannot take the question. Go to KWASIEC. He is not the person that should answer that question." And he herded Kamarudeen away. What reward should come the way of the duo?
