DECEMBER 6TH - The Traveling Wilburys were an easy going rock supergroup whose first album was a big hit in 1988. Two years later, David Renwicks brilliantly dark, absurd and ingenious sitcom One Foot in the Grave began. The two worlds collided when this song served as Victor Meldrews epitaph after his death in the 42nd and final episode. As usual, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne provide the tracks musical fizz allowing Bob Dylan, George Harrison and Roy Orbison to escape from their sometimes flat and lugubrious styles. All five members had solo success after this album, though regrettably Orbisons was posthumous.
