DECLAN UPDATE: Declan is tolerating his feeds but because of his mito and the fact that he went so long eating so little, it is having to be done very carefully with labs drawn every 8 hours to avoid re-feeding syndrome. The goal is for him to have 5 200 ml bolus feedings of his formula in the hospital. Right now hes at 90 and were increasing by 20 ml. every feed, keeping an eye on all his levels. Eventually when we go home well meet with our G.I and nutritionist in Greenville and really fine tune that amount with the goal being that he will be able to take larger bolus and only do 3-4 a day. So, Ive learned not to say, we are supposed to go home on a certain day because every time it keeps getting drawn out but just for kicks right now were looking at Monday.
