DEEP - As I read late last night in the book of Ezekiel, I realized that a “miracle in reverse” took place. God can do miraculous things, but He can undo them too. We can’t get that twisted. If we are not living in His will, He can remove whatever is keeping us away from Him. I’ve seen it happen. But anyway, Ezekiel had a vision and it came to pass. He saw God withdraw His presence from the most Holy Place in the temple because of all the sin in Judah. He told Ezekiel to tell the people that the city would fall and that they would be scattered across the Babylonian Empire. But get this, God only withdrew for a period of time; it was temporary. “I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel” – Ezekiel 11:17. So because of their sin God punished them, but didn’t leave them. God always keeps His word; He had promised the land of Israel to their ancestors years ago. It will come to pass. But, we have painful consequences to pay for the dumb stuff we do, but God stands ready to forgive and to restore. I know I’m glad about it!
