DEEP BELLY BREATHING: Breathing from your belly, instead of your chest, will help you to de-stress AND lose weight! When stressed we tend to breath from our chest area which in fact adds to the stress cycle. Start by placing your hands on your belly, and breathing in through your nose for a count of 4, then breathe out through your mouth for a count of 4. You should feel your hand rise and fall as air enters and leaves your belly. This breathing technique helps to lower your cortisol - one of the chemicals that gets released into the body when stress arises.
