DEFECTED LAWMAKERS: PDP AND JUSTICE ADEMOLA MAY BE WRONG. On Monday 31/03/2014, a Federal high court judge in what as been regarded as April Fool by the affected lawmakers, gave a perpetual injunction that about 37 lawmakers who cross-carpeted from PDP to APC should vacate their respective seats in the Lower House of the NASS. How true this injunction cum opinion of justice Ademola is what the good people of Nigeria are yet to ascertain. However, the ruling political party- PDP is not been fair in their call on the court to sack the defected lawmakers. A quick look at the recent past (1999-2013) different politicians defected and or cross-carpeted from Opposition political parties to the ruling PDP and from one party to the other. Some of these former defectors are: 1. Sen Musiliu Obanikoro (ACN TO PDP) 2. GOVERNOR ISA YUGUDA (ANPP TO PDP) 3. GOVERNOR THEODORE ORJI (PPA TO PDP) others are 4. Governor Adams Oshiomole (LB TO ACN/APC) 5. Sen. Ibikunle Amosun (PDP TO ANPP) No dust was raised from any corner when the above political gladiators defected in the past. The question now is, why the noise from PDP when it has once benefited from what it calling illegal today? Its disgusting, the position of the highly placed justice of the Federal High court on Monday. He was not to be seen in any form or way near Partisan Politics, thus, his Mondays opinion on the issue which was not the original case before him should be outrightly rejected and he (justice Ademola) should be called to order by the NJC. PDP should work harder to get it members back and or mobilized new members. 2015 is around the corner, the last hope of the people (judiciary) should be careful before the newly found trust in the judicial arm of government starts to dwindle.
