DELTA 2015: DARE TO BELIEVE There are people who believe that I can never win the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because I am not in good terms with Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and Chief E K Clark. I have bad news for them. I have a robust relationship with both leaders of our great party and state. Those who are holding such an opinion are misinformed and dead wrong. Governor Uduaghan is my elder brother and Chief Clark is my father. Like most members of the PDP family, they are both interested in who can win not just the governorship election for our party but also whose candidacy can guarantee that APC does not get the 25% of the votes in the presidential election. They are also interested in a candidate who can sustain the gains we have made in the past 15 years and take the state to the next level of the development ladder. If they find me as one who can achieve these goals for our great party, better than anyone else in the race, which I believe I am, they will support me. Those who dare to believe and support me now will be part of history making and one day they would look back and say to their children and grand children that they supported and worked for the victory of a man named Ovie Omo-Agege who transformed our economy, our society, our politics and protected our environment; and made Delta State a place of abundant and equal opportunities for all, where there is safety of lives and properties and the rights of citizens are guaranteed. That is my dream that is my vision for Delta State. And the mission is to deploy competence in the prudent management of our scarce resources for socio-economic development and diversify Delta economy in line with Governor Uduaghans vision of Delta Beyond Oil and the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan. The aim is to position Delta as a hub of transparent and good governance; and destination for enterprise, trade and investment for the good of our people and nation. That is what I will work to achieve if Deltans give me the baton of leadership on May 29, 2015. The task of building the Delta of our dream which began in 1999 and built upon by Governor Uduaghan, may seem daunting but it is achievable. All of us working together as a state wide team with sincerity of purpose can make the new Delta possible. Not tomorrow but now. This is the moment. The moment of consolidation for a better future is here. But I cant do it alone. So join me to make it happen in the next four years regardless of where you come from or the language you speak. Obaisi (Barr.) Ovie Omo-Agege, LLM, LLB, BL PDP Governorship Aspirant & Former Secretary to the State Government Delta State.
