DEMOCRACY….POVERTY,,,, and development If I love Democracy it is one sided love…one sided love is not a reality and ends Up in to heart break….This is exactly what we are facing now a days. Democracy is a system where people are the focused point…but our politicians consider themselves as the only people in the country. There fore all the best from our TAX money is taken by them and in return we just get increase in the volume of federal loans and more tax collection…..as cost of one sided love. Politicians do talk about the rosy stories of democracy in the rich countries but criminally avoid discussing the GDP, loans/deficit and income per capta of the rich country. The most dangerous effect of poverty is the vulnerability of the poor to tyrants and demagogues, who could easily mobilize them to subvert existing democratic institutions. DHARNA is a present example. Poverty breeds a sense of powerlessness, which will manifest as withdrawal from public affairs that leads to apathy or indifference democratic institutions to endure it must be defended by the people, who should see as appreciating the contribution of such institutions to their material prosperity. The more poverty there is the more people lose faith in the capacity of democratic institutions to improve their welfare. Poverty poses greatest threat to democracy because it weakens the will and commitment of people to act in public affairs as a free and independent people. People choose a government that promises to improve their material conditions and enable them to live as proud citizens of the country… Our politicians do promise all the good to the people but after holding the Govt office they canalize all the national resources to their private accounts out side Pakistan. Resultantly We see the increase in poverty among the people and financial growth of the politicians/rich. Development and welfare has nothing to do with the Defected Democracy. Our development and welfare is directly proportional to the financial strength of the country. Our country is one of the unlucky countries whose financial strength is pilled up out side the country. No politician will ever make an attempt to bring back the LOOTED wealth kept out side the country for our welfare. Politicians will beg other nations to invest their wealth but will never invest their own wealth in the country. We must demand our politicians to bring back their all money pilled up out side Pakistan. This will improve the confidence of the foreign investors... Presently our heavy debt condition has put the nation in to FINANCIAL ICU…We will be paying about 70% of our GDP as debt service in shape of loan installment keeping the principal amount of the loans intact….Our defense budget is half to the loan installment. No politician will discuss this fatal national issue at any forum…rather politicians’ will like to keep us in the past will not discuss present and are totally void of future planning…..VERY DANGEROUS POLITICAL BEHAVOUR…. Under the existing circumstances we can only pray to ALLAH…May Allah look after us and our country.
