DEMONWARS:REFORMATION UPDATE: My Sunday night game is rolling along. I’m DM’ing now, launching adventures for a band of heroic monks assembled to battle the De’Unnerans, the goblins, the powries and the general craziness that has settled upon the land of Honce-the-Bear…oh, and in their spare time, to gather together the gemstones and return them to St.-Mere-Abelle. As to the state of the Core Rules Game Book (the Kickstarter)…it’s getting really exciting now. All of the art is in and sorted and ready to roll. The writing is about 95% done (the game rules are 100% complete – we’re just adding in some flavor about the land of Corona for the uninitiated at this point). Then it’s off to layout (most of it is there already) and then to the printer. We’ll be basically done in weeks, and it should be shipping within a month or two. Oh yeah, and about that artwork…I had a wonderful team of former 38 Studios folks working on it, found through my graphics person a couple of wonderful new artists, and because I’m always trying to make things even better, I’ve added a couple of pieces from the awesome Todd Lockwood, the amazing Larry Elmore, and got to work with Donna Parkinson, widow of my dear old friend and truly gifted artist Keith Parkinson, to get a Keith painting in there as well! One of the best things about doing this Kickstarter was being able to work with so many talented people – and even meeting a couple of new ones who I hope will stick around if and when I go on to the next DemonWars RPG Kickstarter. For those few who haven’t answered the Kickstarter survey yet…umm, please do! If we don’t get your e-mail and address, you won’t be getting product, you know? And if we don’t have your response, we won’t be able to put your name on the THANK YOU page in the book…which (did I mention?) is going to press very soon! I was going to link the cover art in this post…but not yet. Scott Duquette, ex of 38 Studios, did it, and all I can say is “WOW!” (And everyone who knows Scott or worked with Scott isn’t the least bit surprised; he really knocked it out of the park.) Oh, and also, the first thing coming out to the backers (everyone who backed for $5 or more) will be a PDF of the Novella: “The Education of Brother Thaddius.” Those who followed my Brother Thaddius updates here should get a kick out of this one. I know I did. For those of you who missed the Kickstarter and are interested, fear not…these core rule books will show up in some stores. And of course, as soon as the Kickstarter rewards are fulfilled, we’ll get the books in RASalvaStore, and likely we’ll even put them in the E-signing this summer for “Rise of the King.” It’s been quite an experience – and the game has turned Sunday nights into an absolute blast. Peace, Bob ps. Speaking of the store... rasalvastore/#!/~/category/id=4627269&offset=0&sort=normal Weve only got a few Clan Battlehammer shirts and hats left. Were not planning on doing more at this time, so if you want one, be quick.
