DEPENDENCE ON OUR FATHER’S CARE: Having real faith in our heavenly Father, we cease worrying and we rest in Christ. Instead of being anxious like those who kill themselves gradually with anxiety, fears and cares, by faith we expect divine favour and supply every day. The Gentiles, the people of the world are downcast and defeated by earthly circumstances because they live without God and without hope. We have a God who cares and we have Christ our Saviour who is interceding for us at God’s right hand every day and every moment (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; John 11:41,42). Why should we be anxious? Why should we ever allow attacks of worry and anxiety? Neighbours worry, colleagues are anxious, but we have great and precious promises from God our Father. Those promises extend to the whole of life. There is no aspect of life that is not covered by these extraordinary promises of God. Our triumph is in laying hold on these promises, concentrating on them, trusting in God who cannot lie, and who cannot fail. Take the promise of God at face value, believe it, rest on it, meditate on it, live by it, control your thoughts and tongue by it. Focus all your attention on it, and no circumstance will ever overcome you. Let the words and the thoughts of God (Isaiah 55:8,9) possess you at all times and in all circumstances and worry will be a thing of the past.
