DESCRIBING THE TASTE OF HONEY 2 Kings 4:25-27 – “So it was, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to his servant Gehazi, ‘Look, the Shunammite woman! Please run now to meet her, and say to her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?’ And she answered, ‘It is well.’ Now when she came to the man of God at the hill, she caught him by the feet, but Gehazi came near to push her away. But the man of God said, ‘Let her alone; for her soul is in deep distress, and the Lord has hidden it from me, and has not told me’. ” The Shunammite woman was a woman of faith. Her mind was quiet even when everything around her was disquiet. When everything was not well with her, she boldly declared, “It is well” and it was well indeed. In like manner, we must learn not to focus on what our situation says about us but what God says about our situation. God clearly sees the real you, the powerful you, the healed you, the prosperous you and the you of your dreams. Perhaps you were given a vision or dream and you never believed it because it overwhelmed you or for reasons known to you. One of the principles that will change your life the most is the vision of being in a future state as if it were already here. Listen to your dream. Your dream never says you are poor even when there is no money in the pocket. Your dream never says you are defeated even when you are surrounded on every side. Your dream never says you are sick, even when there is pain in the body. The man that is sick, poor and defeated is the man without a dream. The Shunammite woman had a dream that it would be well with her and her family and at God’s time, it was. Your vision comes true at God’s time. To help you realize your dream, take Jesus as your life coach. When Jesus Christ becomes your life coach, your words and thoughts change; you will discuss the One fighting for you, instead of the battle; you will discuss your healing instead of your sickness and you will describe the taste of honey while swallowing tears. That is, you will be able to speak the word of faith. You will not focus on your present situation, how you are doing, how you are feeling or how you are being treated but on what God says about your situation. Do not let your situation mislead you. Make Jesus your life coach and you will see that there is comfort in affliction when God is involved.
