DESOPADEC hands over three classroom block to Alaka Grammar School, Ozoro OZORO-THE Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission DESOPADEC has handed over a completed three classroom block with convenience and borehole to Alaka Grammar School Ozoro. Handing over the building to the school, the Commissioner representing Isoko Ethnic Nationality Arc. Joseph Ajiri Ogeh represented by his Special Assistant Mr Jonathan Okpako Umukoro said DESOPADEC as an interventionist agency was established to intervene in any area the people of the oil producing communities are lacking. He said Ozoro kingdom cried to the Commission for assistance when virtually all the public schools in the kingdom were handed over to their former missionary owners. The Commission thereafter responded by mobilizing the contractor to site and the job was completed within three months. The Chairman of Education committee of Ozoro Kingdom Sir Josiah Igbu described the job as properly done and expressed his happiness that it didnt take a long time before the job was completed. The project was done within 3 months and the whole town is happy. HRM and the President General of the Kingdom has put security in place to protect the buildings. The joy of the community knew no bounds even as they have promised to take proper care of the project to ensure that the facilities were not vandalized. Sir Igbu further requested the assistance of DESOPADEC in the fencing of the school. The Principal of the school Mr Lawrence Efidhere assured that the students of the school has promised to ensure that the facilities will be guarded jealously to ensure that they are put into proper use. Present at the handover ceremony were top officials of DESOPADEC which include Engr James Eclarke, Director of Infrastructure, Engr. Anthony Okuweh, Assistant Director, Engr Lawrence Eduje among others.
