DETAILS OF THE INCIDENT AND LATEST UPDATES Another tragic death of one of our brother, Akha Salouni yesterday (21/07//2014) has brought the atrocities against North-eastern people at the national capital to light again. Let us continue our fight against such inhuman and dastardly acts by uniting together as one and let our voices not be silenced. Join us for a candle-light vigil in memory of the departed soul and stand in solidarity with our community which has remained a constant target of violence and racial discrimination. Venue- Jantar Mantar Date- 22/07/2014(Today) Time- 6:30 PM . DETAILS OF INCIDENT On 21/07/2014 Akha Salouni from senapati district, of Manipur along with his two friends were coming from masoodpur Vasant kunj by auto at around1:00am and were entering towards Kotla Mubarakpur through Defence colony side; as they have planned to stay back at one of his friend’s place who stays in Kotla. As they entered kotla mubarakpur, they came across a white colour car (Hyundai verna) which stopped after seeing them. Around 5-6 men of the same age group 25-30 years got down from the said car and shouted maaro maaro and they started attacking Akha Salouni. 5- 6 men surrounded him and beat him up. The other two friends manage to escaped and called up the police and went back around 2:00am with their other friends but they found Akha Salouni unconscious and within few minutes he was dead. At about 2:50am the police PCR came and took Akha Salouni to AIIMS Trauma Centre where he was declared brought dead. The attack was with deliberate intention to kill all three of them but two of his friends somehow manage to escaped. LATEST UPDATES *FIR has been lodged at Kotla police Station, FIR No 601/2014 U/S 34 and 302 *A medical board of doctors (4) was constituted under the chairmanship of Dr. Milo from Arunachal Pradesh and Postmortem was conducted *Postmortem Report will be out today (22/07/2014) *The police have seized the footage of a CCTV camera installed outside a shop near the spot *Three accused/ Murderer have been arrested and 2 murderer are still on run. *Requested for CBI investigation *Dead body will not be taken until PM report is out *CCTV Footage is very clear where 5 guys were seeing beating him to dead. *MOS Home Affairs visited AIIMS Trauma centre where the Postmortem was conducted. *MOS Home Affairs told NE leaders and Family members of late Salouni that he is personally concern, share the pain and the case will be taken up very seriously and he also assured that justice will be given and he will be available anytime to help. *Robin Hibu, Joint CP Nodal officer of NE people in Delhi and DCP, South Jaiswal is monitoring the case.
