DETOXES/CLEANSES SUCK. They will waste your time, your money, - TopicsExpress

DETOXES/CLEANSES SUCK. They will waste your time, your money, and you might even gain more weight back than when you started. 1. Its a temporary band-aid on a deeper problem. The problem is that the majority of people eat shitty food, with no timing structure, with inadequate/zero supplementation, and completely unbalanced macronutrients. When you go through a cleanse, you drink what these idiots tell you to drink and you ultimately learn nothing about proper nutrition. What do you think is going to happen when you go back to eating normally? Youre going to go right back to where you started since you didnt actively change anything. Why would you waste your time and money on that? 2. Placebo effect. Youre telling me that three days of Kale, Flaxseed, SuperBerry, UltraGreen, Brazilian Rainforest Treasure WonderDrink is going to clear out a lifetime of garbage that youve been putting in your body? Get real! It may prevent you from piling in more garbage during the few days or weeks that youre cleansing, but ultimately, it cannot and will not make much of a dent into detoxing you permanently. If you eat the right foods, there shouldnt be much to cleanse! Not to mention, whats the first thing youre probably going to do after you finish the cleanse (if you finish)? Reach right for those unhealthy cravings youve been staving off for the past few days. 3. Its trendy, overpriced bullshit. Companies, juice bars, and pyramid schemers everywhere are just repackaging old nonsense in new ways. Cleanses are essentially one thing: calorie deprivation. Youre eating a fraction of the calories that your body actually needs, with virtually zero protein or healthy fat intake, for some exorbitant daily cost! Most cleanses cost $50-$100+ per DAY. Thats ridiculous! Cleanses are shortcuts to very temporary weight loss and will ultimately teach you nothing, cost you a lot, and leave you at least right where you started or even worse. Talk to a professional about structuring your diet and actually making a positive, lasting change. Also: see this article. vox/2014/12/31/7438565/detox
