DHQ: After the Denial phase The last of the five kubler-Ross - TopicsExpress

DHQ: After the Denial phase The last of the five kubler-Ross phases of shock and grief is acceptance. And this is what I expect the DHQ to honorably do as evidences surfaced, and will continue to. I didnt expect a professional military to rule out bad elements among its members and therefore would have been more appropriate to seek time to investigate with the hope of unearthing the root of the matter but rather the paradoxical quick reaction insinuate a psychological state of a retrogressive past experience c.f. Abu Guraib. Today the military can no more bully anybody except probably the uneducated almajiris. Not even the ranks and files of its men can be bullied, a lesson I hope those now in charge of its affair fully acknowledge, if they dont they better know it now. This slave of the nation has for long assumed the position of the master, the mentality of which has driven us presently to this deplorable state of insecurity. Neither the chief slave nor the working slaves realized that the true master has woken up from his slumber. The military is not denying the occurrence of these gruesome executions of these almajiris but that its men have no hand in it. So the natural reaction for the military in this situation more especially the area in under the state of emergency is to be concerned about the well-being and welfare of these innocent souls, but nay, its image - I wonder what image- appears to be its obsession. Sadly, this heroic stand of alerting the nation of the genocide that is going on is considered an act of diverting attention and pitching public opinion against the armed forces. Just of recent the Ugandan president Mr. Museveni said the failure of the governments of Nigeria, etc to protect their people and instead opt for foreign assistance amounts to a vote of no confidence. In his words: I have never called the United Nations to guard your security. Me, Yoweri Museveni to say that I have failed to protect my people and I call in the UN....I would rather hang myself, When I saw these grisly pictures I couldnt control myself but post them on line for all to share my grief and sadness from this heinous crime committed by people I know who can do it and for what reason. However to the DHQ it is the manifestation of yet another grand design to tarnish and denigrate the image of Nigerian armed forces. Yes, during the days of men of caliber the Nigerian Military was prestigious and the love of every Nigerian. But after the vandalisation and hijack of the military, a situation whereby its nepotism, corruption and incapacitation has become the object of international mockery; a situation whereby a criticized office wore the ranks of Maj. Gen, Lt Gen and General in one year, its the military that has to dispel in the mind of the nation - or at least- most of the nation that there is no grand plan to relegate and suppress a segment of the Nation by imposing useless and futile security crackdown measures on a whole region. If there is anything the broadcast of these atrocities did is to prod the military in clearing itself from undesirable elements among its ranks and correct its deviant path to perdition especially at the hands of the politicians. This said, we will never relent in our effort to see that the military, our military, is up to the task of protecting every Nigerian soul not just 200+ innocently abducted schoolgirls. We also call on the international community to live up to its responsibility of conducting a full inquiry into the genocide that was committed in the country in the name of fighting terror. God Saves our Dear Nation! Amin
