DIALOGUE - I AM ONLY INTERESTED IN THE WOMAN I WANT TO BE AND A CAT I am getting me a cat I said rather loudly, a cat it will be then Nono, but why a cat? Ive always seen you as a dog person.... Well, Nnena would probably know why. Anyway when winter comes to a womans soul, she withdraws into her inner self, her deepest spaces. She refuses all connection, refutes all arguments that she should engage in the world. She may say she is resting, but she is more than resting: She is creating a new universe within herself, examining and breaking old patterns, destroying what should not be revived, feeding in secret what needs to thrive. What better company at this interlude than a Cat? You see, cats will age gracefully with you, they will learn and change and grow as you learn and change and grow, and they will comfort and support you throughout the entirety of your life. Cats commonly use their lateral thinking skills to solve massively complex logic puzzles such as the classic inaccessible flap and inaccessible pen beyond the door. Enough reasons why I need a cat for this journey. As many before me can attest to, it takes so much courage to step forward and move away from what feels like a comfortable blanket- it isnt perfect but it has been worn with our use and we know just how to spin it when we pull it over ourselves so our toes dont get caught in the holes....but we cant know how good a new plushy, soft, fresh blanket will feel unless we free ourselves to make the change. I am ready. I am listened to the wisdom of my soul. My thoughts as gentle as a babys kiss, loving and in harmony with what I desired. My soul I just realised held the answers I was looking for, and all I had to do was listen. Every now and again we just need to disconnect, relax and enjoy your own company. Take a break and listen to your soul. Your soul speaks to you in those quiet moments in between your thoughts, listen and embrace the wisdom, who knows you better than your own soul? In that enclosure the answers, the realisation not painful for a change, hits you smack on your consciousness that every woman has a wonder woman inside her. who fights for what she believes in, she protects what is hers and what she loves, and she believes in justice for all. She is a woman of strength and courage. Not everything in her life may have gone perfect, and sometimes she stood by herself and fought alone. She may not have won every single battle, but she came out stronger. She didnt give up and she didnt give in. She doesnt need a roaring crowd, awards or a spotlight, a nice quiet place too will do just fine. She knows who she is and what she has been through. She continues to serve not only herself, but the ones she loves as well. She doesnt seek a hero because she knows what she is made of. She is a warrior, she is a legend, and she is her own hero. She reflects upon the beauty of who she is, and as I looks in the mirror, she see the girl she once was, the women she became and the older woman she is now. Is she contend with the woman she sees in the mirror? Yes, she is. She may ask herself form time to time where has the time gone? As she reflects on her past with tears and a smile, she places her hand over her heart, inhaling and exhaling slowly, she says You have come a long way, and you are worth the journey We know who we are now, and there is much life left in you. The most beautiful thing I can see now is how I am able to look in the mirror and see no more hatred, anger, or judgments. I am able to see you now with love and compassion, you now reflect back to me what I am able to see in the world that I never saw before. A woman knows when the time has come to begin her journey of healing. When life has harden her heart and her soul is darkened, and she longs to bring color back into her life, to fill her heart with joy and her soul with purpose. When we are in a dark place for a long time the journey to healing may seem like a long winding, endless road. What does a woman need to take on this journey? She needs to be patient with herself, believe in herself, and start walking slowly. Each step brings tears, your heart pounds, you sweat, you moan you groan and you hear all the negative voices within telling you,you are not brave enough for this journey, turn back, its too scary I cant lie, the beginning of my healing journey scared me to death, and yes, several times I did turn back at first, but each day it got a little easier. Yes, there is frustration, anger and fear, but take a look at where you are, and ask yourself do I want to remain here or do I want to change and bring back beauty to my heart and soul. Its hard, but its harder to remain in such a place of despair and utter agony, but in the end the journey takes you to a place of absolute beauty. It may seem dark now, but the skies open up and pour down upon you, beauty, amazement, joy, satisfaction and love. A woman knows when she is ready to take this journey, all of her aches for change. And yes, you may leave others behind, because for whatever reason they refuse to walk with you on your journey to healing. Its the hardest thing to say goodbye, but there is always a new hello waiting to greet you. Reach for something beautiful everyday, reach for that woman you may see in the distance, the woman you want to become, she is waiting for you to take the first step, take a deep breath and let her know you are on your way.... Some people bring out the best in you..
