DIARY DATES: 1. Ayrshire Morning Star Newspaper Readers and Supporters Group public meeting on Palestine on Monday Feb 3rd at 7 30 pm in Volunteer Rooms Irvine . Film on the work of the charity Medical Aid for Palestinians will be shown followed by a discussion on the situation in Palestine at the present time. Anyone who is interested is welcome. 2. Kilmarnock and Loudoun Trades Union Council are organising a Tax Justice Summit on Saturday February 15th . Speakers from Christian Aid, the Anti Bedroom Tax Campaign and the Public and Commercial Services Union will speak about the case for fair and just taxation to support decent public services. Venue is Howard Park Centre 5 Portland Road Kilmarnock KA1 2BT . Doors open at 10 am and the Summit will run from 10.30 am to 12.30 p.m Anyone interested is very welcome to come along. Tickets are priced 15 pounds for a 3 course meal and a night of entertainment and speakers . Alex Baird former Trade Union convener at Wallacetown Engineering in Ayr will be one of the main speakers at the event and it is also hoped to have a CND speaker as well.
