DICV commences production of LHD FUSO trucks at Oragadam plant - buff.ly/VFwFwW Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has been exporting Mitsubishi FUSO branded trucks made at its Oragadam plant (near Chennai) to several international RHD (Right Hand Drive) markets in Asia and Africa. Under Daimler Truck’s new ‘Asia Business Model’ which involves harnessing synergies between India-based DICV and Japan-based Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), the Indian subsidiary has now started making FUSO trucks in LHD (Left Hand Drive) configuration as well. The Asia Business Model targets to sell over 2,90,000 units (DICV and MFTBC combined) by 2020. The FUSO FJ (rebadged BharatBenz 2528C), is the first LHD truck to be made at the facility and more LHD variants would follow in the future. The models will be initially launched in markets like Nigeria, Ethiopia and Egypt. In the mid-term more markets in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East would be covered.
