DID YOU KNOW? In the second half of the 18th century, planters loyal to the Crown left America following the Revolutionary War, established plantations on the Turks & Caicos Islands and attempted to grow cotton. By the end of the century most of the plantations had failed and the planters drifted away, leaving behind the haunting ruins of their cut stone buildings and the proud people who subsequently built and settled on our beautiful and peaceful island nation.
