DID YOU KNOW? The City of Sullivan has 4,259 citizens. There are 119 cities in the State of Indiana. A city can be either a third-class city or a second-class city (the first-class designation is reserved for Indianapolis). An Indiana city has a mayor-council form of government, but a third-class city may appoint a city manager. The mayor, elected to a four-year term, serves as the executive. The legislative branch consists of a five member City Council. Council members serve four-year terms, and are elected by geographic districts with one at-large. The City of Sullivan is a third-class city.
