DID YOU KNOW? The Turks and Caicos Islands adopted a constitution on August 30, 1976. The constitution was later suspended in 1986, but restored and revised March 5, 1988. A new Constitution was instituted in 2006, but was suspended in 2009 after the discovery of massive corruption and financial misfeasance by ministers. The Turks and Caicos Islands Government was restored under a new Constitution after a general election in November 2012.
