As I read the owners intake statements it is very clear that he knew something may have been medically wrong with this cat and yet he ignored it and never too her to the vet to determine what it was. Its just SO much easier to blame the cat for its behavior and not have a vet evaluate her for illness or pain or anything that would cause her to behave the way she did. Emerald was said to be avoiding a litter box for 6 months but no mention if she was checked for a UTI or stones or other problems. We also dont know if the litterbox was clean either. She is said to scratch and bite when people try to play with her. This could be play aggression and if a cat isnt taught from a kitten not to do this, he will continue. Sadly, he also said she is not good with kids - well- what are you letting the kids do??? Owning a cat for 5 years and then dumping it with all these supposedly behavior problems points to one thing - BAD OWNER - who didnt take the time to properly care for his cat. So of course the cat gets the blame, the boot, and now the euth list. IF YOU CAN HELP THIS POOR MISUNDERSTOOD HOUSE PANTHER, PLEASE CONTACT A RESCUE TO PULL EMERALD TO SAFETY. WE HAVE SEEN SO MANY NEW HOPE CATS ACCUSED OF BAD THINGS TURN INTO TOTAL LOVE BUGS ONCE THEY FEEL LOVED AND SAFE. PLEASE HELP EMERALD TONIGHT.
