DILL PICKLES 8 pounds cucumbers 4 cups white vinegar 12 cups water 2/3 cups pickling salt 16 cloves gralic peeled and halved 1 table spoon dill seed wash cucumbers and place in sink with cold water and ice,I use a clean cooler it works good,let soak at least 2 hours. sterilize 8 quart jars and lids in boiling water at least 10 minutes. In large pot combine the water ,vinegar and pickling salt. bring to rapid boil. In each jar put 2 halves of garlic and 1 table spoon of dill seed,and cucumbers to fill jar,fill jars with hot brine,leave 1/2 inch head space.clean rims with clean cloth,put lids on. process in hot water bath quart jars 15 minutes,pint jars 10 minutes.store for 8 weeks,will keep for 2 years! PS. IF YOU WANT THEM SPICY,PUT 1 TO 2 SLICES OF FRESH JALAPENOS IN EACH JAR!
