DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING....... TEXT LUKE 14: 25- 33 In order to understand the subject of discipleship, man need to know himself and why the call to discipleship is a necessity. **THE TRIPARTITE NATURE OF MAN- God is a TRINITY as recorded in Gen 1:26- Let us make man in our likeness(Father, Son , & Holy spirit). Man is also a tripartite being- Spirit , Soul, & Body-1Thess 5:23. The disciple is is expected to have a thorough understanding of his nature as a person so that he/she can understand how to handle every aspect of his/her person. Man only became a living being when God deposited Himself in man (spirit or breath)-Gen 2:7 ( a living soul) The reason for the study of the tripartite nature of man is to handle each part separately especially as it relates to been a disciple. **SPIRIT- This is the connecting point between man and God (John 4: 24) Immediately a person receives Jesus as personal Lord and Savior, his/her spirit automatically gets born again but not his /her soul and body, which is why St. paul said..., work out your salvation with fear and trembling phil 2;12. **SOUL- This is the center of man that is connected to the spirit, and it is the battle ground between God and the Devil. The soul is made up of three (3) components. The MIND(Romans 12:2), The WILL, & The Emotion (pls do further research) **BODY-This is the physical component of man that is connected to the soul via the emotion which deals with the human senses. THE FALL OF MAN - Gen 3:6.., this is based on three (3) things, the LUST of the flesh, the LUST of the eyes, & the PRIDE of life. These three things are still the major challenges to discipleship today. THE ROUTE TO DISCIPLESHIP-John 1:12 Anyone who wants to be a disciple must as a matter of fact first receive JESUS CHRIST as Lord and Savior, so as to be able to receive the POWER that was lost at the garden of Eden when man fell. THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP (LUKE14: 25-33) **A disciple must be ready to lay down everything and count them as lost for the sake of the master. luke 14;26, 1 kings 19: 19-21. *deny yourself *take up your cross *follow me Qualities such as submission, humility, trust obedience, selflessness are key to a successful discipleship.
