DISCLAIMER: THIS STORY IS NOT MINE. Chapter 1 I woke up early that morning to the sound of an owl outside my window. As my eyes flickered open and the sun beamed through my window the bird squaked. I groand as i rolled out of bed to find a snowy owl perched on my windowsill and a peice of parchment tucked in its beak. As I opened the window it flew inside and landed on the wooden desk in the corner of my deep purple bedroom. It dropped the parchment on the desk before flying out my window again and into the sky. I slowly approached the parchment, picking it up carefully as I read the back of the envelope. L.A. Harbison 163 Seaview Cres. Mullingar Ireland I slowly peeled back the envelope, taking out the papers inside. HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY Headmaster: ALBUS DUMBLEDORE (Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall Deputy Headmistress Wait a second, hold on...Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Was this some kind of joke? There are so such things as magic, or witches, or wizards! Its all a bunch of fairytales! Its impossible. With a nod I placed the parchments back on my desk, walking towards my wardrobe. I reached in, pulling out a white lace dress and a red ribbon. I quickly slipped my nightgown over my head, pulling the dress on afterwards and tying the ribbon around my waist. I quickly checked myself in the mirror before running a brush through my hair and skipping downstairs to the smell of freshly made pancakes and bacon. I smiled as I stepped into the kitchen, being consumed by the wonderful aromas. Smells good mum, whats the occasion? She glanced at me quickly before turning back around to finish cooking. Oh, nothing dear. Just felt like making a nice breakfast. I frowned slightly before shrugging it off and sitting down at the table and turning on the tele. As the screen turned from a black to the news I stared at the tele, hearning nothing but the sound of the ancors voice. It would seem that last night a flock of owls of all different breeds have gathered near 163 Seaview cresent. With that I scrambled up from my chair and rushed towards the front window, tearing open the curtains to see close to 100 owls sitting outside my house. I quickly shut the curtains and rushed back into the kitchen, leaning against the wall. I felt dizzy, my head was spinning and it felt like the room was crushing me. Slowly, I sunk down to the floor, my hands clutching my hair as my eyes flickered open and closed, open and closed, open..and closed..open..and closed.. Chapter 2 Layla. Layla Ava. Baby wake up. My mom spoke softly as she carressed my shoulder. Hmm? I rolled over as my eyes slowly flickered open. Huh? What happened? I shot up out of my bed, looking around my room. Suddenly, pain shot through my forehead and I immediately clutched my hand to my head. Lie down sweetie. My mom said as she gently pushed me back down in my bed, placing a damp cloth over my forehead. Wha--what happened?!? I asked, looking around in panic. You fainted. Id imagine it was from the letter I found on your desk and the owls out front. Le--letter? Now I was more worried then ever. What would my mom say? She nodded slowly, Honey, I knew there was something magical about you. Im so proud of you. I groaned, Mum! This is ridiculous! There is no such thing as magic! Shh sweetie, magic is all around you, dont close it out so fast. With that, she smiled and kissed my forehead, placing the letter beside me on the bed and stepping out of the room, closing the door behind her. I glanced down at the letter, thinking about reading the rest and giving it a chance. No! There is no such thing as magic! I snapped my gaze back up to the wall in front of me when a faint tap was heard from my window. I jumped slightly and slowly crawled out from beneath the blankets stepping carefully over to the window. As I peaked through the curtains the creature squaked at me, causing me to scream and stumble backwards. I tripped over my own feet and came crashing to the floor as the bird flew in, dropping a letter in my lap and flying away. Once it had left I looked down at the letter, the same latter I had gotten before. I ripped the letter in two as I scrambled to my feet, throwing it in the wastebin and lying back down on my bed. There is no such thing as magic. There is no such thing as magic. I whispered as my eyes fell shut. There is no such thing as magic. There is no such thing as magic. I kept repeating it, trying to convince myself of it but I couldnt be quite sure anymore. Slowly I sat up, taking the letter my mother had given me and pulling the pages out again. I flipped to the second page, reading it over carefully. HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY UNIFORM First-year students will require: 1. Three sets of plain work robes (black) 2. PARENTS ARE REMINDED THAT FIRST YEARS ARE NOT ALLOWED THEIR OWN BROOMSTICK Yours sincerely, Lucinda Thomsonicle-Pocus Chief Attendant of Witchcraft Provisions I sighed, maybe this wasnt complete rubbish like I thought. Maybe there was some truth to it. Wait, it cant be. There is no such thing as magic! I crumpled the parchment in my hands, tossing it in the wastebin before heading out of my room and downstairs. I turned down the hallway, heading towards the living room. As I walked in I took my favourite book of the shelf, opening to the last page I was on and falling down on the couch. I was barely a chapter in when a large crash was heard from my room. Immediately I closed my book, tossing it on the couch beside me and racing up stairs throwing open the door. I will never believe what I saw. A small, wrinkly gray creature was laying on the floor in my room. I stumbled backwards, walking right into the door. Im assuming the creature heard me as it turned around as I hit the door. I mumbled something, its tone raspy and deep. Wha--what are you? Why are you here? I spat out. Master sent Kreacher. It said. Master? Whos master? Why did they send you? Worry was hinted in my voice. Master Sirius. Master send Kreacher to give Misstress Layla Ava her letter. It replied. M--my letter? It simply nodded, taking out the same letter I had recieved before, handing it to be before snapping its fingers and dissippearing in a cloud of smoke. I coughed, looking down at the envelope, Maybe magic is real...
