DISGRUNTLED DRUIDS Yes there are a lot of them about; and I’m one of them. It’s well documented and ‘common knowledge’ in the Pagan and Druid community that I, and my Order, are opposed to the proposed closure of the By-ways around Stonehenge. In favour of more open access, and against the EH monopoly of the World Heritage site, and what we see as their over-commercialisation of the Temple. and that we have, for several years and will continue to do so campaigned for the re-interment of our collective ancestors taken up from what should have been their final resting place and put on display in ‘Trophy cabinets ‘at Stonehenge. Other Druids disagree and they are free to do so, Many choose not to join us at the Managed open access four times a year and choose instead to avail themselves of EH’s ‘Private Access’ policy; again they are free to do so. What they are not free to do is to come onto ‘my sites’ and argue their case, bordering on rudeness to my officers and associates, nor are they free to ‘put down’ either myself or my Order on ‘our sites’ They can of course say what they wish on ‘theirs’. Personally I do not see what gives them the God/ess given right to comment at all, on the state of the Managed Open Access or the plight of the Droves if they are not, and in the main never have been part of the negotiation or opposition process with the authorities that has led us to the current situation; “If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem’. I feel it better and far more constructive that Druids who oppose my Order and our aims do so in their own arena and refrain from doing so in ours. I have made it abundantly clear exactly where I stand on the Stonehenge issues and neither I nor members of our order will be swayed by those who would ally themselves with English Heritage for reasons of their own and are opposed to what they see as our ‘Rocking the Boat’. We are the Warrior/Political arm of the modern Druid movement and were set up specifically to ‘Rock the Boat’ and will continue to do so. Onward we Charge. © King Arthur Pendragon /|\
