DISTORTION OF FACT IN EKITI ELECTION - Bimbo Daramola I am - TopicsExpress

DISTORTION OF FACT IN EKITI ELECTION - Bimbo Daramola I am constrained to drop my few comments in the face incongruous and deliberate distortions going on about the loss of Dr Fayemi at the 21st June election. I dare say 95 percent of those who are so confident in their oracular postulation do not have bare hard facts. Facts about the fayemi years in ekiti, and the numerous initiatives that are clearly aimed at restoring ekiti from the ruins. People can sit and posit that the guys who have memory of an elephant could have also forgotten that no administration has treated teachers better than Fayemi regardless of the competency test which was badly misunderstood. Arm chair theorists should go and compare the administrations since the creation of the state. Today they say teachers are against Fayemi (from promotions, rural location allowance, core subjects allowance, 27.5% pecuniary allowance, local and foreign training) what happened to the memory of an elephant? I agree that the election was not won because of stomach infrastructure or rice , certainly not! All of a sudden 25000 senior citizens are memory fatigued or brain dead to forget a man who has brought government to have impact in the monthly stipendiary support, 10000 volunteers on support allowance every month for the past 36 months lost their minds; the people of Ikogosi that played host to local tourists in their thousands like they have not witnessed in 21 years cannot remember who did that? The local economy of the sleepy town is different now and even the state revenue stream; jobs created alongside. And so many other benefits; massive investment in road reconstruction etc ire ekiti burnt bricks left postrate for 23years now infused with life by Fayemi; all these dont count for anything! So when these latter day analysts begin to ascribe interpretations to what they do not have hard facts about what reasonable people should do is to step back and attempt a wholistc evaluation before comments. Ayobolu said he never visited ekiti in the period that Fayemi had been governor but would rather rely on sms or hear says from nebulous people. Of course he tried to tuck away his sloppiness when he said journalists are not supposed to be intellectuals! And then Akiin Osuntokun mutilation of facts on the altar of expediency of need to enter into political reckoning which this victory may suggest. In any case I will want rational people to open up themselves to some realities. Was that election about the governor alone? Did it matter that we also have 3 Senators? 5 members of the house of representatives; 25 state house assembly members, political appointees etc and all these people are useless? No value addition prospects; ok; 10 out of the people who ran for the gubernatorial ticket of the pdp had decamped to the APC; former governor Asiwaju Segun Oni does not have political value in Ifaki, his homestead? Not to talk of the state! Hon Olatubosun of Igbemo all of a sudden does not have any value; Hon Babade is now of no value in Ikere etc yet 16 local governments lost in the manner as being touted?
