DIVINE HEALTH, DIVINE PROTECTION AND LONG LIFE By Rev. Dr. John Williams INTRODUCTION The Word of God contains every truth that we need to know about all issues of life, including Divine Health and Healing. First of all we should know that God designed and created our body to function eternally. Our body has the ability to regenerate and renew the cells and the tissue. God, who created the human body has also given us a guide to maintain that body. Some call the Bible the operator’s manual or the manufacturer’s handbook, which I believe makes a lot of sense. If we carefully read the Word of God and understand all the spiritual laws which regulate and govern our life and health, it will help us to avoid sickness and enjoy divine health. These spiritual laws will also help us to receive healing when we are sick. There is a solution in the Bible for every problem that we face in life. In other words there is a spiritual solution for every physical problem. People get sick because of the violation of a spiritual or a physical law. Spiritual laws may also be called the laws of God; kingdom principles; or truths. The Bible says in John 8:32, “you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” The truth will make us free from all curses including sicknesses. It is God’s will and desire that we should always enjoy good health and be free from sicknesses. God has instituted a plan and a system to give us protection from all sicknesses, as long as we continue to live in His kingdom and follow His laws. When we violate God’s laws we become vulnerable to the attack of Satan, who is the one who puts sicknesses upon us. When we are sealed by the Holy Spirit and when we have the protective covering of the blood of Jesus Christ, we can be free from sicknesses. It is also God’s plan that we should live a full life. God does not desire us to have a premature death. It is His desire and will that we should see our children’s children and enjoy the fruits of our labor. But Satan tries to rob, kill and destroy the people. God also has a plan of supernatural protection and safety for His children. God has created millions of angels to guard and protect His children. He has instituted and ordained several methods and means to protect us. God gives us a spiritual covering. He puts a hedge around us, so that the enemy cannot attack us. He is able to raise a wall of fire to protect us. 1. PROMISES AND SCRIPTURES ON DIVINE HEALTH III John 2: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Exodus 15.26: If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all of His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. Deuteronomy 7.15: And the Lord will take away from thee all sicknesses, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee. 2. PROMISES AND SCRIPTURES ON DIVINE PROTECTION II Chronicles 16.9: For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him. Psalms 34.7: The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them. (Psalm 42:2) Psalms 91.4 : He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalms 125.2 : As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about His people from henceforth even forever. Zechariah 2.5: For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. 3. PROMISES AND SCRIPTURES ON LONG LIFE I Kings 3.14: And if thou wilt walk in my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days. Job 5.26: Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shack of corn cometh in his season. Psalms 91.16: With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (Proverbs 3.2; Proverbs 9.11) Proverbs 10.27: The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. Isaiah 65.22: They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. I Peter 3.10: For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile. Exodus 23.26: There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfill. Conclusion: Divine health is a greater blessing than healing. We can enjoy divine health if we diligently observe and obey God’s laws. God does not give us sicknesses and diseases. God gives us protection from sicknesses and He also heals us. But when we disregard the protection that is available to us we get sicknesses. Sickness is the curse of the enemy. Only when Adam and Eve were driven out of the Garden of Eden did sickness come upon them as a part of the curse. Divine protection is the plan of God. God uses angels and several other supernatural means to give us the protection that we need. It is also God’s plan and will that we should enjoy a long life seeing our children’s children and enjoying the fruits of our labor. Everything is possible as long as we diligently observe and follow God’s laws. - E n d -
