#DMICFacts The city of Aurangabad’s urban population is expected to grow from 1.3 million to 3.6 million over30 years. The Shendra Bidkin MIP will be a major urban centre, and total population in the Aurangabad District will reach 6.58 million by 2042. Projected industrial activities at the MIP are expected to generate 220,000 direct industrial jobs (54% of the district’s total industrial jobs created) and about half a million jobs in total. These numbers have already excluded heavily polluting industries. There will be four major industrial clusters—the Engineering Cluster, Food Park, Textile/Printing, and Construction clusters—for a total industrial land demand of 5,310 hectares (ha). Because Aurangabad is an established city with existing residential developments, it is estimated that there will be a 15% jobs/housing balance, or 15% of the working population of the Shendra-Bidkin will live on-site. A total of 645 ha has been estimated for nonindustrial use, specifically residential, commercial, civic, and mixed use. Approximately 52% of the total land demand of 8,400 ha has been estimated as saleable land.Provisions have been made for ample master plan/regional-level roads, open space, and utilities. _Source AECOM (Concept Master Plan)
