DO NOT ENTER THIS CONTEST... IT IS AN OLD ONE FROM 2005. BUT check this out.. Back in 2005, I had a nice idea to set up a METAL contest to see if I could get a bunch of bands and companies that I know and/or like, to give back some cool things to metal fans around the world. I was quite amazed (well, not too much!) that the members of these bands and companies were so generous and willing to literally give away cool things of their own to the fans that buy their cds, merch and see them on tour. Sad part was that ALMOST NONE of the United States and Canadian press that I contacted bothered to even mention it at all! (except Brave Words, KNAC and a few others!) Ahh, memories of things you do to be nice and it mostly gets no ccoverage... nothing in it for them, I guess! But we made a lot of fans happy that did hear about it! There are some cool bands and companies out there! Too bad some of the press dont join in to things like this. It is the fans, remember, that sell their mags, web site traffic and papers!
