DO NOT IGNORE LITTLE THINGS Dr. Pipim narrated a story about a wedding during which a friend of the bride was called upon to give a testimony about the bride. This friend had planned to make the officiating minister to read 1 John 4:18 before she proceeds her testimony. 1 John 4:18 reads There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (NIV) However, because she became nervous and was shivering, when she was called upon, she said, I would like pastor to read 1 with a little pause she continues, John 4:18. So, the pastor thought she referred to John 4:18. He, then, began to read, The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”(Jn4:18, NIV) After the reading, everyone at the wedding was taken aback about this testimony. You see, the ignorance of the effect of a pause in speech made the friend of the bride nearly collapsed her marriage. Friends, ignorance of little things can ruin our lives. The year is almost ending, dont ignore prayer for prayer is a master key to lock your door in the evening and to open it in the morning (c/f 1Thess.5:18; Lk21:36). Dont ignore Bible Studies for it will help you to overcome temptations (c/f Matt.4:4). Dont ignore mercy and truth - when you lie, and you are cursed, it will get you. Little drink to Eleazar and his camels made Rebbecca got a husband - Isaac. E.G. White wrote that “Little Things” Make Life a Success—It is conscientious attention to what the world terms “little things” that makes life a success. Little deeds of charity, little acts of self-denial, speaking simple words of helpfulness, watching against little sins—this is Christianity. The Youth’s Instructor, January 17, 1901. Pay attention to little things. May God bless you.
