(DO NOT READ WHILE DRIVING)A guy came in McDonalds looked to be in his mid 40s and had full gear as if going hiking so I asked, what do you do? He replied oh I climb. Thinking rock wall I said oh cool, like what facility do u go to? He looked at me and shakes his head, no I dont climb walls Im going mountain climbing! Oooohhhhh ok lol my bad! I said. He looks up at the menu chuckling and says Ya me and some old buddies are getting together heading out to Arizona. He then explained his past experiences and trials of climbing then asked if Ive ever climbed a mountain? I looked at him sternly and shook my head with a big grin saying you know, yes I have, In fact I climb everyday! He looks at me with scepticism and asked where at around here is there a mountain? I told him hes probably nvr heard of it and gave him a name Mount Woodbury No hes just confused, where in the world is this or better yet what in the world did u get this from? I put my hand on his shoulder and leaned in and explained... Mount Woodbury, is not tangible for you see my last name is Woodbury, the mountain is MY LIFE. And every day I climb obsticals and have to maneuver over boulders of negativity. Every so often my hands slip and my heart skips a beat but thank God for my awesome gear called F&F, know as friends and family. They keep me secured so that I never fall on my face or plummet to my death. Unlike you Ill nvr reach the top and thats ok. Because just like you its about the thrill. The guy starts crying, Im shocked! He says I lost my brother in a climbing accident, he was trying to save me and his harness snapped... He then gave me a firm hand shake and said thank you man, That was really inspiring. Before we knew it his turn was up and I had finished all my coffee. We said our goodbyes and I left. For the rest of the day I thought about our conversation and smiled thinking, interaction is awesome because you never know who you may meet... And that just maybe thats what that man needed to hear.
