DO WE NEED TO DO MORE THAN GO TO THE GYM?? Is sitting too much killing you? Is your daily trip to the gym enough for you to sustain a healthy, active lifestyle? Studies show that going to the gym once a day isn’t enough. You must break up your sitting time. While sitting, your metabolic engines slow down, thus causing you to burn fewer calories. You will also see a rise in fat and cholesterol levels. What can you do? Get up and walk or stretch. If working at your desk, do some exercises such as squats, dips off your chair, pushups off your desk, stand up against the wall and retract your shoulders. The options are endless. Get creative. You don’t have to do much. Simply get up and move.
