[DO WHAT YOU ARE CHOSEN TO DO] People laugh when I first shared the concept of #justwhackonly But this is no laughing matter. Its the key to achieving mass rapid traction in whatever you set out to do. (Granted, sometimes the edges might fray, but then, there are always cable ties!) I hope they will see me as I go about my way that I practice what I preach. In starting out with creating workshops, from day one, it has been a #justwhackonly affair for me. Promoting the events and influencing people to take action and purchase tickets is all about experimentation. I did not read the research papers or study years of data. I wanted to waste no time getting into the thick of it and finding out exactly what makes people click. In fact, in 3 different occasions, organizers of events have asked me how we market and get people to come to our events. The answer: story-telling and tribe-building. When I turned to Fairus Dasimin in the SMU auditorium during Imran Md Alis workshop earlier this year and whispered to him, I have an idea for us to work on together. This is gonna be fun!, to be frank, it was merely a wisp of an idea, but quickly I pushed on it till it became Fast & Fuyooh. So we should learn when we can, but when inspiration takes hold of us, we must let rip and swing with our best shots. I wanted to take a break on workshops till next year. But I feel I owe it to the Fast & Fuyooh series to complete the trilogy before end of year. Maybe there will be one more in November... As I stood at the back of the room yesterday, marveling at each business owner/ speaker opening up, crying and laughing and sharing their secret struggles and successes on this platform that was created out from mere divine inspiration, I think to myself, Sometimes in life, you choose. Sometimes in life, we are chosen. I am happy to do what I was chosen to do.
