DO YOU TRAVEL NEW HOLLAND AVENUE? PLEASE READ... Beginning next week, contractors for PennDOT will begin base repair on New Holland Pike/New Holland Ave, including sections of North Plum Street and East Walnut Street. This work will require lane and parking restrictions during daytime hours. Starting May 12th and continuing through May 23rd, milling of the roadway surface will begin. Work will start at Route 30 and proceed westward into the City of Lancaster, ending at Walnut Street. Parking and lane restrictions will apply during this daytime work. Residents will be notified by mailers and flyers distributed by PennDOT and its contractors. From May 19th to May 22nd (tentative based on weather), New Holland Ave will be CLOSED to through-traffic between Ross Street and Walnut Street. Detours will be setup from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Motorists will be advised via message boards at Plum Street (western end) and Pleasure Road (eastern end) a week prior to the detour. Once the detour is established, the message boards will be moved to Route 30 to advise motorists of the detour/delay, and to use another route such as Walnut Street from Route 30.
