Symptoms similar to women who died of childbed fever. The article also stated that the women who died of childbed fever also had different symptoms and different causes including mal-nutrition??? Semmelweis concluded the medical students carried particles of filth on their hands from the autopsy room to the patients. The women died of septicemia. This explained to Semmelweis why the midwives had a lower mortality rate. They had no contact with the corpses. He used chlorinated lime for washing hands, because this removed the putrid smell of infected autopsy.(Rotting and decaying organs and tissue) Death rate reduced to that of the second clinic. Semmelweis died of septicemia, in an insane asylum. He was abducted, beaten and thrown into the asylum. He said there was only one cause, uncleanliness, decaying rotting organic matter passed from the hands to the inside of the woman, causing septicemia. That makes sense. The germs were just decomposers, natures housecleaners. Rudolf Virchow rejected the doctrine of germs being the cause. So even if you believe in the germ theory, how many autopsies have you performed to get this decaying, rotting matter on your hands? This is the foundation of your fear of germs and keeps you under the spell of those who make an excellent living off your ignorance and fear.
