DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A PERSONAL QUALIFIED FOR THIS JOB?? 13-0166 Post Date 8/13/2013 Title Veterans Admissions Counselor City Hyde Park State NY Position Type Full-Time Description This position is responsible for communication to prospective students with the goal of moving students through the enrollment funnel. This position specifically works with prospective students transitioning to the CIA degree programs from the military, or students who are military dependents. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Communicates with prospective students via telephone, email and online chat to answer questions, provide structure, and work students through the enrollment funnel. Educates students about application process, financial aid process, curriculum, and campus life. • Works specifically with veterans, veteran dependents, and military personal soon to be discharged to assist them in navigating the admissions process as well as advising them on the veterans’ paperwork necessary to utilize the GI Bill. • Responsible for building relationships and conveying information about the CIA to educators, guidance counselors, alumni, and transition counselors. • Responsible for building strategic recruitment plan that includes key bases, military competitions, and military education centers to enhance military recruitment. • Has a strong understanding of the Post 9/11 Veterans Assistance Act and the Yellow Ribbon Education Enhancement Programs. Maintain current information of any changes in policy or procedures with the Post 9/11 GI Bill as it pertains to veteran prospective students. • Partners with the Financial Aid office and Registrar’s office on key issues for Veterans • Supports and works during on campus recruitment events such as Open Houses, 3C Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, Information Sessions, etc. • Responsible for conducting Admissions presentations and one-on-one sessions with prospective students and families as well as a variety of constituents. • Conducts first read on all veteran and dependent applicants. • Works with Admissions Software, Microsoft Office, and online text , chat, and presentation software. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: • Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience: • Military experience required Licenses / Certifications: • Drivers’ License required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Prefer at least 1 year of sales/admissions experience. REQUIRED SKILLS • Public speaking skills required WORKING CONDITIONS (IF APPLICABLE) • Office environment. Must be flexible with travel and able to lift and carry 25 lbs of admissions materials.
