DOG owners, PLEASE READ. I just got back from emergency vet clinic with Colt. I knew hed gotten ahold of a bottle of water and sugar free metamucil and hed thrown up a lot. I took him as a precaution. Turns out Im glad I did because, unknown to this obviously worst mother ever, many sugar free products contain an artificial sweetener called Xylitol which is toxic to dogs. It causes kidney failure. The vet said shed had a German Shepherd get ahold of sugar free gum and go into kidney failure. Luckily Xylitol was not in sugar free metamucil so hes just gonna have an upset tummy. Point is...am I the only one who didnt know this?
