The Forgotten Tree of Christmas or Gods Christmas Tree. GOD’S CHRISTMAS TREE Even the phrase is offensive to some people. Yet even before the world was, God had in mind a Tree. Before there ever was a sinner, there was a Savior. Before there was a Law, there was a Lamb Ready to be offered on that Tree. GOD’S TREE HAD A STAR. “I shall see Him, but not now: I shall behold Him, but not nigh: There shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel . . . .” Numbers 24: 17. GOD’S TREE HAD LIGHT. “In Him was life; and the life was the Light of men. And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John 1:5. GODS TREE HAD HANGERS Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that H angeth on a tree: Galatians 3:13. GOD’S TREE HAD ORNAMENTS. “I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with Ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10. GOD’S TREE HAD A GARLAND. “And the soldiers led Him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. And they clothed Him in purple, and platted a Crown of Thorns, and put it about His head.” Mark 15: 16-17. GOD’S TREE HAD RED RIBBONS “For the life of the flesh is in the Blood: And I have given it to you upon the altar To make an Atonement for your souls; for it is the Blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” Leviticus 17:11. GOD’S TREE HAD GIFTS. “Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave Gifts unto men.” Ephesians 4:10. “For by grace are ye saved, through faith; And that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8.
