DR KELFALA MARRAH, ANOTHER HUGE MESS. APC CAN NEVER APPOINT THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO DO THE RIGHT JOB Even in my busiest schedule I take interest in my country Sierra Leone. I have been waiting on the Finance Minister, Dr. Kelfala Marrah to read his budget speech for 2015 financial year. As expected almost everything in his budget is misleading and will only pile hardship on Sierra Leoneans. I am posting below his budget speech and as finance minister responsible for fiscal decisions on behalf of the government of a very mideocre President, Earnest Bai Koroma, I encouraage you to look out for the following economic indicators to understand how misleading the budget is. This is why I also believe that Julius Maada Bio is unfit to be president. The presidency is the single most important and crucial office that no Robin Hood or Tom and Harry should hold. I am looking at this budget and will make daily commentary from next week Monday, taking into consideration the following economic indicators: 1. What is the nature of Dr. Kelfala Marrahs tax policies and how efficient are they. 2. Government spending, taking into account the cost-benefit analysis. 3. Long term economic growth, with specific emphasis on the level of our current nationa output. Are we producing the right goods and services? And under Dr. kelfala Marrah how has our aggregate supply increased. (Aggregate supply is the total output produced in our economy) 4. Employment. Are our national employment rates going down, and how is Dr. Kelfala Marrahs monthly salary increment of Le18,000 ($4) likely to affect inflation. Did we need it? Is it a priority in the crisis we find ourselves? 5. Macroeconomic stability in the areas of inflation, and how it affects the individual savings each of us do, and how it reduces our quality of life as Sierra Leoneans. Is Dr. Kelfala Marrah increasing hardship on Sierra Leoneans? You will know as you continue to follow me. 6. Efficiency and Regulation under Dr. Kelfala Marrah. The social loss from the monopolies in our economy and his failure to push anti-trust laws. 7. Our international trade volume and what goods Dr. Kelfala Marrah should be focusing on for us to trade in the international market. His failure as finance minister to analyze our countries comparative advantages and use them to our national benefits. 8. Deficits. His widening of our budget deficits is no manifestation that Sierra Leone is ready to do business. Budgetary support in the investment world only means you lack the means to take care of yourself and you need assistance. What deficits means and how it is robbing every Sierra Leonean of an improved standard of life. 9. The Exchange Rate. how Dr. Marrahs incompetence as finance minister affects the exchange rate of our national currency, the Leones. And creates a run on our currency. 10. Our national aggregate demand. Is Dr. Kelfala Marrah positively or negatively affecting the level of our our national consumption, and how that affects the economy and our well being. 11.Capital Flight. How Dr. kelfala Marrah has carelessly allowed the huge part of our economic growth ending up in foreign countries, leaving our people poor and destitute. With all the mineral boom, Sierra Leoneans are yet to understand why they still struggle to secure their next meal. The following are not exhaustive and I will add up as issues unfold.
