DR in the ER really are crap at least the one I saw this morning is, He kept contradicting himself constantly... one min rest my leg and keep it restrained with a brace or ace bandage, and up , no excessive walking on it only when I need to, the next he is telling me to walk more and do excercises with it and hang weights on my ankle for more resistance and use a resistance band too, then he is telling me to apply heat, next sentence its no heat but ice. mind you my knee, leg, ankle (size of leg) and foot and toes are swollen (toes are red from swelling and pressure is unbearable and hurts. But according to him its fine and no swelling ( think he needs glasses. Had him put his hand on my knee ~ thought he could at least do that considering I was there for my knee and didnt think my high blood pressure ( high due to the pain) or temperature would tell him anything about my knee. Wanted him to feel the crinkle sounds and hear how loud they are, his answer was its just fluid on the knee and it will go away when the knee heals, which he told me is NOT INJURED at all. He send me home then and said with all the meds I allready take etc I can take care of it fine myself. So when I went to the pharmacy to get my refills I told her to please not forget to put my DRs Degree in there as the ER Dr said I am equipped to heal and treat myself. She also said that seeing there is swelling and pain and water on the knee etc it means there is an injury. The Dr had said an ex ray or any other tests were not necessary as he is sure there is no injury, just some arthritis. The Pharmacist seems to think that because I do take two types of anti-inflamitories daily (MOBIC and Celebrex) and also take Oxycodone, Cymbalta 60 and 30 and Lyrica and other pain meds that I most likely do not feel the intensity of the injury as much. enough for my rant, I guess life goes on hobbling.
