DRAMIONE ‘Draco! Draco, Wake up!’ Draco Malfoy groggily got up. His mother was hovering over his head. ‘What? What has happened?’ But his question was answered his father, who had just come bursting into the room. ‘Death Eaters! We.. We must see The Minister of Magic. Now! Otherwise, people might think we were amongst the Death Eaters out there tonight! If we are seen with the Minister, We will have an alibi. Nobody will accuse us!’ He grabbed his Coat and said, ‘Draco, you stay here! You will wait inside the tent till we come back!’ “No-No!” protested Narcissa, ‘We can’t leave him here! What if the Death Eaters come here?’ ‘Oh they won’t touch Draco! Its Muggle-borns they’re after! Draco will be perfectly safe here,’ Lucius said hurriedly. ‘Come now, Quickly, Cissy!’ They hastily disappeared into the crowd leaving Draco alone. Why had the Death Eaters suddenly come out of hiding today? Was it spoil the calm atmosphere of the Quidditch world cup? But then something else sunk in. They were after muggle-borns! Granger didn’t know that. She wouldn’t be safe. A wave of panic swelled up inside him. She didn’t know! What should he do? Should go off to find her? Funny how he should, even in the slightest, be concerned about her safety. It didn’t matter to him. It shouldn’t matter to him. But it did. He couldn’t endure the death of any of his classmates. Even if she was his arch-rival. With that he picked up his wand and sprinted out of the tent. Almost all the tents were empty. Everybody was running. There was total chaos. Where would she have gone? Surely she was with Potter and Weasley. But where did they go? It made no sense to be hanging around here with the Death Eaters around. So they must have headed towards the Woods. Keeping his fingers crossed, he sped towards to the forest. Hopefully Granger would be here. That is if she wasn’t already caught by the Death Eaters. The thought made him shudder. He was looking around frantically. Any sign of them, any at all. The fear of encountering a Death Eater was stuffed in some far corner of his brain. Then he heard someone yell. It pretty much sounded like Weasley. He ran towards the sound. Somebody had lit up their wand. Granger. It was Granger. He had found her. He ran to them and heard Weasley muttering something like ‘Tripped over a tree-root’. Now to warn them. But he had to be careful not to let his concern show on his face. ‘Well, with feet that size, hard not to.’ He sneered. Alarmed by the voice, their heads snapped up searching for the owner of the voice. Weasley started swearing loudly. Typical Weaselbee. Couldn’t he control his language in the presence of a girl at least? ‘Language, Weasley’ said Draco. He’d better warn them quickly and get on with it. ‘Hadn’t you better be hurrying along, now? You wouldn’t wanther spotted, would you?’ He jerked his thumb towards Hermione. A blast sounded from the campsite and a flash of green light lit up the trees around them momentarily. ‘What do you mean!?’ asked Granger defiantly. Was she stupid? Obviously, they wouldn’t want to invite the muggle-borns for a cup of tea, now would they? ‘Granger, They’re after Muggles,’ said Mafloy, irritatedly. ‘D’you want to showing off your knickers in mid-air? Because if you do, hang around… they’re moving this way, and it would give us all a laugh.’ ‘Hermione’s a witch,’ sneered Potter. Honestly, he hadn’t ever met a set of idiotic teens as stupid as them. Shouldn’t they be running by now? Instead of arguing with him and trying to prove their point. The girl was in grave danger, for crying out loud. They should RUN! ‘Have it your own way, Potter,’ said Draco grimacing maliciously. ‘If you think they can’t spot a mudblood, stay where you are,’ ‘Watch your mouth!’ yelled Weasley leaping forward to attack Malfoy. ‘Never mind, Ron,’ said Granger, seizing his arm. Another bang from the other side of the trees. People were screaming. ‘Scare easily, don’t they? I suppose your daddy told you all to hide? Whats he up to — trying to rescue Muggles?’ ‘Where’re your parents? Out there wearing masks, are they?’ said Potter, his face reddening with anger. They still weren’t running? Shouldn’t they grab her arm and take her to safety? If he were with her, the first thing he’d do would be to take her to someplace safe. But he wasn’t with her. ‘Well… if they were, I wouldn’t be likely to tell you, would I, Potter?’ sneered Draco. ‘Oh, come on, lets go and find the others.’ said Granger throwing a disgusted look at Draco. What? This was what he got for warning her, for saving her life? No gratitude, no thanks? Shouldn’t she appreciate the fact that he had gone to great lengths to save her. ‘Keep that big bushy head down, Granger,’ jeered Draco. ‘Come on,’ Said Granger pulling both of them. Potter would definitely get her to safety. Draco had seen the look on his face. He understood. Yes, she was safe. Potter would keep her safe. Potter hadbetter keep her safe. Finally breathing a sigh of relief, he turned around set off for the tent. ~ Hermione Malfoy
