DRIVER QUESTION: I have a problem and am out of avenues. Ive been driving local concrete trucks since 1993. Before that i was in the military with a military drivers license to drive trucks equivalent to a class B. I have amblyiopia in my left eye. Until recent changes to the motor carrier laws i was able to go to an eye doctor and get a letter recommending i can still safely drive and i could take that to a doctor and get my health card. Not anymore. Now, in Ohio if i want to continue driving i have to apply for a health waiver. To do this i have to have documentation i was driving on or before dec 1988. I was in the military then and was licensed by them to drive trucks in the military. Ohio said they would allow that but i cannot acquire the documents proving that. They destroy these documents now and no longer put them in your military 201 file. Ive tried a web page for military transcripts but they dont have it either. I havent been able to work for a month now. Push is coming to shove. Any ideas??
