DS friends: Am I getting screwed? The attached photo is the electricity bill I received for the period of June 10th through July 25th. My room is a studio apartment (not a condo). Its quite small. I use the AC nightly and shower daily. But Im gone most of the day so no electricity is running between 10am and 8pm on most days. The apartment I lived in previously was twice as big and I ran the A.C. more often and worked at home more often. But I never paid over 1200 baht or so for a month of electricity. The front desk clerk offered to show me the meter but I declined. If the meters been tampered with, that wouldnt prove anything. I asked some Thai friends at my coworking space and they unanimously agreed that the total on the bill is impossible even if I were at home all day, every day and running the AC. Again, the room is very small. The property is UTD Living in Onnut soi 8. The owner is Israeli and seems nice enough. Ive had no problems with him personally. However, when I first moved in I had a lot of issues with the room. They tried to charge me extra after I already agreed to terms and gave them money. Then when I refused and threatened to leave them a bad review on AirBnB where they also have a listing, they withdrew their attempts at further extortion. Then they took away my TV and refrigerator the second month I lived there because they were each 500 baht extra. Fine, I didnt need them anyway. Please share your thoughts and experiences. Im pretty sure Ill be looking for a new place soon. Thanks, Vincent
