DTEF PUBLIC NOTICE - 2014 PROGRESSION SPONSORSHIP The Department of Tertiary Education Financing is inviting applications for progression in the June-August 2014 intake. Application must be submitted to the institutions where the student is admitted. Approved sponsorship or regret letters should be collected from the same institutions. NB: Applicants are reminded that admission at institutions is NO guarantee for sponsorship. Consideration for sponsorship is limited to the following prioritized fields of study: FIELDS OF STUDY • BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION • HEALTH • ENGINEERING /TECHNICAL • AGRICULTURE • PERFORMING ARTS APPROVED PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME • CIPS>>Diploma in Purchase & Supplies • BICA>>Minimum required qualification AAT • CIMA>>Minimum required qualification AAT • ACCA>>Minimum required qualification AAT The following terms and conditions will be applicable. • For progression to DIPLOMA/ADVANCED DIPLOMA, applicants must hold an exit certificate from a BOTA (or recognized regulatory body) accredited institution. • Technical /Vocational holders of Trade B or NCC will also be considered for progression to Diploma/ Advanced Diploma. • For progression to DEGREE, applicants must hold a Diploma of at least a credit from a TEC (or recognized regulatory body) accredited institution. • For progression to PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME, applicants must hold a relevant lower qualification from a TEC (or recognized regulatory body) accredited institution. • Prospective applicants must have completed by 2012/2013 academic year. • There must be articulation in the programme of study (i.e. must progress in the same field of study and NOT necessarily in a related field). • Age restriction - applicants must be able to complete the programme of study before they attain the age of thirty five (35) years. Applicants in possession of single subject certificates are required to combine the same prior to applying. Further that the combination must equate to full exit certificates. This requirement is applicable to City and Guilds, ICM and other similar qualifications. The following combination will be acceptable: City & Guilds • Combination of 5 single subjects>>Certificate (Level 2) • Combination of 15 single subjects>> Diploma ( Level 3) ICM • Combination of 4 single subjects>>Certificate Required documents (supporting documents must be attached to the application). 1. Admission letter for 2014 semester 1. 2. O Mang (certified by National Registration office). 3. Certified copy of certificate (must be certified by institution attended or any Regional Education Office. NB: Applicants are advised to demand acknowledgement receipt as proof of submission of application. EXCLUSIONS • All serving officers will NOT be eligible for sponsorship under this dispensation • Graduates of Colleges of Education and Institute of Health Sciences will not be considered under this dispensation NB: 1. Prospective applicants are cautioned that failure to disclose information as required in the application form will render their application invalid. 2. Submission of altered results is a criminal offence and all such cases will be referred to the law enforcement agencies. 3. All detected case of deception leading to award of sponsorship will render such an award null and void. The closing date for submission of applications with institutions is 31st March 2014.
