Anyone traveling to Mexico should understand that drunk driving is taken seriously by Mexican authorities. Its important to familiarize yourself with the laws of a country before traveling there. Mexican drunk driving laws are no exception. Although some countries established lower legal BAC limits than America, .08 is the limit for the entire North American continent which includes Mexico. In Mexico, drunk driving is punishable and if caught, you could end up in a Mexican jail cell. Mexican auto insurance is required if you are driving in Mexico!
