DURHAM TOWNSHIP EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT NOTICE: MET ED UPDATE: November 26, 2014, 3:00 PM: Met-Ed operations personnel are continuing to monitor the status of the snow event and associated outages. The current forecast for accumulation of the wet snow has increased. The Northeastern rim of the Met-Ed territory was hit the hardest. Additional crews are being deployed from the western region of the Met-Ed territory to assist. Travel conditions however have worsened and extended the expected arrival times of crews. Outage numbers have also continued to rise throughout the day. Restoration efforts are continuing as efficiently and expeditiously as possible however some customers in the Easton and Stroudsburg areas will remain without power throughout the night. Additional updates will occur as information is received. Note: Customers who are without power are encouraged to call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) to report their outage or click the “Report Outage” link on firstenergycorp. In the event of severe weather, customers should immediately report downed wires to their utility or their local police or fire department. Customers should never go near a downed power line, even if they think it is no longer carrying electricity. Extra caution should be used in areas where downed lines are tangled in trees or other debris. Motorists are cautioned to treat intersections with inoperable traffic signals as four-way stops.
