DYNAMIC DUO SEARCHING FOR A HOME (4 photos) PLEASE HELP THE RESCUE LOCATE A HOME TOGETHER FOR THE DYNAMIC DUO: UPDATE ON DAISY AND JETT BOTH AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: BBBR Dog Trainer Dan says: Daisy and Jett are both doing great. When they first got here they were pretty stressed from living in a kennel. They were both bursting with energy to get out and do anything. Now that they realize they are going to be staying here for a while they have relaxed a lot. Once these guys get some energy out they love to just lounge around and snuggle. They would make a great running or jogging partners. Going on a walk is probably the highlight of their day. They love to explore, sniff, and just move forward. They both have very high prey drive for any small moving object, especially cats and squirrels. Since they are both quite strong their owner would have to be able to control them. It is also important to know that Jett can jump a 6 foot fence and wont hesitate to try. Daisy is doing great with her training. Since she is deaf I am using hand signals to communicate with her. If you hold your hand in front of her and then bring It up you she will sit. She also sits if you point to or tap on her behind. To let her know it is free time I use an outward waving motion with my hand showing her she can go anywhere. To get Daisys attention when she is not looking at me I use a gentle tug on the leash or touch her back legs with my hand. She always looks back to see what you want. By waving my hand toward me she knows I want her to come. She eagerly comes while wagging her tail and makes eye contact. To get Daisy to heel I tap on my knee. She is very good at sticking by your side but she can get excited on walks. We will continue to work on this. Daisy is learning down but is a little confused right now. She will get it with a little more consistency. To get Daisy to stay I put my open palm out in front of me. She will need some more work until she has this down 100% . Daisy is very praise and treat motivated. She is very in tune with her sense of smell. She always knows where the food is! Jett is a super smart dog. He always sits when I tell him to and he looks into my eyes. Jett is learning down. He always goes down and stays in position but sometimes he needs a few reminders. Jett heels great if there are no distractions. He gets very excited if he sees small animals on walks and I will work on keeping his attention. Jett is excellent at stay. If I have him in a stay, even if he sees a squirrel he will stay until you release him. But if he has already seen a squirrel if can be difficult to redirect him. Jett is very praise motivated. He does like treats but he loves to be pet. Jett and Daisy are great friends. They really enjoy each others company. Although they both love to hang out with people Daisy can be a bit more aloof and doesnt mind doing her own thing. Jett loves to be right by your side, rubbing up against you.
